Aaaaaaarrrrrrr, mateys! On September 13 and 14 at Maritime Race Weekend, ye’ll see a gathering of rapscallion, plunderin’, partyin’, hard-runnin’ pirates. Aaaaaaaaarrrrrrr! And if ye know what’s good for ye, ye’ll don yer bandanas, eye patches and other pirate clothes and ye’ll wield yer swords.
For one thing, serious treasure is on the line: $600 in the currency of the Dominion of Canada! That’s 100 Canadian loonies for each of the top three pirate outfits on Friday evening and Saturday. Does that make you roar: “Aaaaaaaarrrrrrrr?!”
But more seriously, lads and lassies, if ye show up in yer fancy-schmancy, hoity-toity running gear, well, blistering barnacles: the pirates may rob and pillage ye! When ye run with the pirates, ye do as the pirates do! Say it with me one more time: “Aaaaaaaaarrrrrrrr!”
