If you see a Mountie ahead of you when you finish the Maritime Race Weekend’s Coastal 5K don’t fret – you are not getting a speeding ticket! In fact, the proud members of the force will be there as our invited guests. Maritime Race Weekend is happy to announce that members of our local RCMP will be on hand to give out the finisher’s medals for Friday night’s race.
As an event that is striving to be a celebration of all things Atlantic Canadian, it is an honour to have the support of Canada’s Finest at our event. Their dress uniform is known around the world as a symbol of Canadian pride, dignity and is instantly recognizable to tourists from far and near. In fact, finish line duties aside, the RCMP will be on hand throughout the Maritime Race Weekend to ensure that the course is safe for motorists and racers alike.
With the Maritime Race Weekend attracting entries from Brazil and the Southern United States, we are overjoyed to have members of Canada’s proud force on hand to pass out the medals. We now have Mounties, tartan, music, beer, coastline, and plenty of good cheer – does it get any more Canadian than that?!
